YOU HAVE BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST

(2 CORINTHIANS 5:21)
_(For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him)_

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. (1 John 3;7)

_For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes._ (Romans 10;3-4).

And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. (Genesis 15:6)

_But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God–and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—_ (1 Corinthians 1:30)

and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4;24)

Now let’s talk about the above scriptures then we will close.
Kingly read the topic once again. It never said you are righteous.
This is because to be righteous means that to conform to certain standards or laws.
In fact, the word righteousness as used in the scriptures is from the root word DIKAIOS which means observing divine laws.

In order words, conforming to divinely set standards. So, scripture saying that we have become the righteousness of God because it’s not possible to be righteous.
The standard for attaining righteousness is unattainable by us.

This is what the Israelites missed in their pursuit for God.
They decided to meet the standards of righteousness on their own.

That is doing EVERYTHING that is written in the law (Deuteronomy 28:15).

Righteousness is of works. That is why it is not possible to attain righteousness.

Glory to be to God, Jesus is righteous and had attained righteousness as well.

So now this is what happens when you believe in Jesus Christ, you are consummated in Christ such that your personality does not matter again.

That is, Jesus has fulfilled the requirement of righteousness, so believing in him makes you a partaker of his righteousness.

That mechanism follows after God’s original plan pertaining to righteousness.

RIGHTEOUSNESS BY IMPUTATION. Righteousness was in existence before the law even came into force. That means, it is possible to be righteousness without the law.

What was the essence of the law then?

I will leave that for you to explore for yourself.

To be submitted though😊😄

Let’s fast forward into the topic.
The scripture said, you have become the righteousness of God.
Glory.

This in other words is to say YOU HAVE BECOME JESUS CHRIST.
Don’t forget that Jesus is the righteousness of God. So, if we have become the righteousness of God after being saved, it means we are Jesus Christ.

I am Jesus Christ.

Lemme conclude with the last scripture.
Our conduct is not really essential to becoming righteous but our conduct after becoming the righteousness of God is very crucial.

So, Ephesians 4 verse 24 talked about “PUT ON” who you have being made or who have become.

That means that you cannot live your life anyhow after you are born again.
Just imagine Jesus doing certain things.

So now Jesus is the yardstick, in fact you are Jesus. That means in putting on the new man simply means, doing things that Jesus would do.
Thus, living exactly like Jesus.

May God help us. In fact, grace is available. God bless you.

Weights
Sub-topic :Avoiding the gathering of the saints

New Living Translation Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

There are people who
say that, attending church services is not important because they read their Bible and pray on their own, the truth is that people who say that actually don’t read their Bibles at all because if you enjoy reading your Bible you will relish going to church.
Another thing is this, no matter who you are cannot survive on your own or let me rather say you cannot maximize your full potential in solitude, therefore God said it is not good for man to be alone. One shall kill a thousand and two not two thousand but ten thousand, we shall achieve greater feats when we come together to wash one another’s feet.
Let’s look at a few importance of the gathering of the saints…

The essence of the gathering of the saints
Gathering of the saints is any meeting that involves believers purposely for kingdom business
Jesus said where two or three are gathered in my name there I am in the midst of them, it is the presence of our Lord that makes that gathering more special than any other gathering.
Why is this so important?

1. The Lord doesn’t come as a spectator but to minister unto us, when the Lord comes to the gathering of the saints, he comes as a servant to “wash our feet”

2. We get the privilege to minister to him. From what he served us with, we serve. The Lord said to Peter if I do not wash your feet, you have no part with me, that is, he cannot flow with him.
3. Our lamps are refilled. We are the light /lamp of the world, oil is what sustains lamps therefore when we come together as saints we receive fresh oil to keep our lamps burning

4. Jesus said said, every offering shall be seasoned with fire, Romans said we should offer our bodies as a living sacrifice(offering). A living sacrifice is a sacrifice that is continually burning.

The fire that burns that sacrifice never goes out. In the old testament, the fire on the alter of incense never goes out. So when we continually come together as saints, we are always caused to burn for the Lord, and his fire prevents us from decadence, that is why it an error for you to be always present in the gathering of the saints in still be vicious or be frequently suffering from ailments. Then it means you are not letting the fire go through you. It is the fire that will refine you.

5. Iron sharpens iron…
Aside all that, through fellowship, those of us that are in a way dull or blunt so to say receive enlightenment. If you know a thing about magnetization by stroking method, I will say spiritually we are magnetized when we come together in fellowship.

6. It strengthens the bond between the saints
7. We receive inspiration or encouragement

Together we are unstoppable and the devil knows this
Wild beasts don’t attack a whole flock of sheep but that which is in isolation or strays from the flock, the same way when the devil wants to attack a believer, he lures him to stray or detach himself from the church, so whenever you realize that attending church services is becoming a sought of burden to you, then you have to know the devil is trying to put you in isolation so he can pounce on you, for isolation is the last step before destruction.

SUBTOPIC: NOT ACTING ON THE WORD AS A WEIGHT

Weight as we studied earlier, is anything that turns the heart of Christians from God or cause them to backslide. We also studied prayerlessness and being yoked to unbelievers as some weights of Christians.

In today’s lesson, we shall look at another form of weight of Christians. Our topic for discussion today is: Not acting on the word of God as a weight

The word of God serves as the Global Positioning System which helps us (Christians) to navigate the challenges in our walk with God.
The word of God is described by the Psalmist as perfect, sure, right, pure, clean and true(Psalms 19:7-9) . This means that the word contains everything a Christian will need to survive in life.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.(Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

Every religion is based on certain principles in which it believers must follow or observe. The Bible is the Holy book of God that contains the words of God. As such it is expected of every Christian to keep and act on the word.

Acting on the word is what is referred to as faith. The bible made us understand that it is impossible to please God without faith. (Hebrews 11:6) No one can be described as faithful in God without believing the word. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Not acting on the word simply means neglecting the word in your life or in other words not believing in the word. A Christian who does not act on the word is classified to be a faithless Christian.

WHY MUST WE ACT ON/PRACTICE THE WORD

1. The word of God is infallible and complete: The word has no error. Every word of God is pure and complete; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (Proverbs 30:5-6). Who are those that trust in the God? They are those who believe and practice the word of God.

2. The word of God is totally sufficient for all our needs: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2Timothy 3:16-17 KJV).

We Christians are totally secure in the lord if we study and practice the word.

3. The word of God promotes our spiritual Growth:

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.(Colossians 2:6-7 KJV)

To grow spiritually is not to grow more in yourself but to grow in your Knowledge of Christ because Christ is our Life. Christ is the LOGO of the word. That is, Christ is the word in flesh. (John 1:14) . To grow spiritually, we need to live the word. Not just reading the word but rather studying, meditating and practicing the word.

4. The word of God will accomplish what it promises: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 KJV).
All the promises God has for us is in the word. And we must study and practice the word in order for the Lord to reveal all these wonderful things (promises) that will change our lives.

Not acting on the word is the major weight of Christians. The bible made us understand that the whole world is earnestly waiting for the manifestation of the saith.(Romans 8:19). How is it possible to tell people about Christ (our greatest commission) if we are not living Christ?

We are the Christ on the earth now. We therefore need to live Christ in order for our lifestyle to depict that of Christ.

Not acting on the word is a sin. Refusal to practice the word is total disobedience to God . That is not abiding to the words of God. The wrath of God shall come on all disobedient children (Colossians 3:6).

In conclusion, not acting on the word of God predisposes us to the wickedness of this evil world. (Mark 11:13-20, James 1:22-25).

We must not just be the hearers of the word but also the the doers thereof. The Word of God reveals our identity unto us. As such we must study the word and live the word to promote a perfect walk with God. Let us note that, not practicing the word shows that we lack faith in God. And if there’s no faith, then the Christian is worthless.

I pray that the good Lord will help us to practice our Christian faith daily according to the word in Jesus name

God Bless You Abundantly.

God being so good, we have been able to look at some distinct features of the New Covenant as compared to the Old Covenant.

Through the lens of the New Covenant we also captured the light of forgiveness in this era.

Today, we will yet again focus on certain dimensions of the New Covenant that essentially sums up everything about this New Testament.

THE THREE CARDINAL GIFTS OF THE NEW COVENANT

shall be our main topic for the time being. But for today, we shall abreast ourselves with the nitty gritties of the topic.

Everything that has to do with the New Covenant revolves around these cardinal gifts. You cannot talk about any subject in this New Testament which will be outside the sphere these cardinal gifts.

The Gift of Salvation
________________________________

Romans 6:23

[23]For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Here we see that, eternal life is a gift, which is a subset of the gift of salvation.

Salvation is a gift. Whatever you receive by grace (see Ephesians 2:8-9), is equally a gift.

Salvation is somewhat different from eternal life. Eternal life is the life of God, the nature of God that is imparted to our recreated human spirit when we were born again.

This eternal life grants us the ability to live with God eternally, which will then be called everlasting life. But whilst we are here, there a several outworkings of eternal life that is of good benefits to us in our walk with God. We shall look at that later.

Salvation is a grace package, spiritually, salvation is Jesus. So when you are saved, there is a whole lot of packages you receive and eternal life is one of them. So today you know the difference between salvation, eternal life and everlasting life.

The Lord put this topic in my heart for us to teach it! The chief end of this series is faith unfeigned! As a child of God, you must never be prone to gullibility, you must know who you are in the Lord, belongs to you, what you have and what you don’t have!

A lot times, we hear people preach and they say “you have to beware of that ‘cheap’ grace message. They say ‘once you are saved, forever saved’! It is not true, beware”.

And immediately, you see believers who prior to the sermon were very stable people in a good relationship with God begin to shiver and start questioning their faith and their walk with God.

This was what happened in Galatia, and Paul asked them “who bewitched you”? The Galatians were on the right, received the Holy Spirit, we’re saved and all that by grace. But for some preaching or one reason or the other, they were seeking to be made right with God by their good works

Reasons why people are tempted to think that when you receive Jesus into your heart, you are not really saved:

1. Because some who received Jesus still remain the same in word and in deed.

2. Because many people think when you tell sinners or whoever, that when you receive Jesus into your heart, then you are saved for good, those people will continue in their sins.

3. Because they themselves are not sure of the power of the gospel.

4. Because those teachers or preachers do not really understand what the gospel really is.

5. People who preach like that think by saying a person is not saved once, that will make the person to have a godly fear to live right.

These things ought not to be so.

We are to take Jesus by His Words. Jesus said in John 3:16 that when you believe on Him, YOU SHOULD NOT perish! Pastor Chris said, this Scripture is a law! It is a command!

There is a passage in Joshua 20. There is a place called “The City of Refuge”. No matter the offense of the person, if you chase him and he enters that city, just stop following him. They will not hand over that person to you.

This is similar to Jesus. Jesus is the reality or the shadows of the Old Testament. When a person receives Jesus, he should not perish! That is a law! He should not.

Since this is the introduction to the first cardinal gift, we will end here. In subsequent lessons, we shall be taught what salvation really is. And we will be taught how people who receive Jesus can walk as new creations till we meet the Lord again.

God bless you!

Walking in the flesh

The Christian journey is not a fleshly journey. We must know that God is Spirit as the Bible says, therefore we can benefit from Him fully if we walk with him in the spirit.

Two people can live together on an agreement. Without agreement or the understanding of one another it will be very difficult to walk together.
One party may not see the benefits of walking with the other.

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Walking in the flesh is a weight because it moves you away from the LORD.
David said in Psa 27:1 The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

If you give yourself wholly to God, the above scripture works in your life. The LORD becomes your light, salvation and strength.

On the other hand, if we start to act in the flesh then we are refusing to enjoy the benefits from the Lord.

Gal 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

The apostle Paul was telling the Galatians to walk in the spirit. He gave them a lot of the works of the flesh or the outcome of walking in the flesh. He also gave that of the spirit too. ( Gal 5:16-23)

Walking in the spirit is you allowing God and his word to fully take control over you. Also acting in accordance with the direction of the Holy Spirit.

When we accept Christ and start living in accordance with the word and the direction of the Holy Spirit then we are walking in the spirit but if we take our own ways outside the word, judge by sight, dependent on our own efforts etc. then we are walking in the flesh.

King Saul was using his senses rather than obeying the Lord. He went ahead to perform the sacrifice he is not supposed to perform just because he was thinking and judging by sight. He was rejected by God as a king.
Obedience to God and His men is very important because it makes you stay in the track of God. Disobedience can lead to someone to walk in the flesh which is a weight.

The devil will do everything to move you from the Lord. He will give you scriptures and words to be defending yourself when you are going wayward in order to be justifying yourself.

Saul (now Paul) experienced the same thing. He was killing believers and still thinking he is worshipping the Lord.
But my prayer is that the grace will be abundant for us to always notice it if we are moving away from the faith. God bless you.

Reasoning lesson (27/03/2019).

Theme: weights

Sub-theme: disobedience to authorities.

Introduction
Weights as discussed earlier are the various that distracts us or slows our relationship with God.
There are certain things that won’t take your attention wholly from God, but keeps you stunted in the Christian walk. Kindly be careful to notice such weights, they come into your life unnoticed and their existence is also not noticed. But, the evidence of their existence is that, you are stagnant in growth, always relaying on past experiences or encounters.
God bless you.

Today’s Lesson

Romans 13:1-2 (_Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (2) Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.)

Truth 1; when anyone becomes disobedience to authorities, such is no different from a witch (1 Samuel 15:23).
Authorities as used in this lesson means, anyone that has been given the right to exercise command or direct or instruct you.

I would like us to consider it from the both spiritual leaders and secular leadership perspective.

Truth 2; every form of authority is from God (Romans 13:2).
I had instances where people say that this leader is not of God or that leader is anti-Christ. In such instance, they tend to disobey completely every instruction from the leader. I would like us to understand that governing bodies is an institution set up by God.
We are not obeying the person but the position which is of God. If the occupant of the position is not of God, keep praying for him (1 Timothy 2:2).

How is disobedience to authorities a weight.

Romans 13:5 _(Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.)_.
I will discuss two things here;

Conscience;most often, when we rebel against any form of leadership, our conscience accuses us. Maybe not instantly but surely in your closet, you would start asking yourself, why did I do this? This becomes a weight in the sense that it takes time overcome this condemnation. That is why scripture said, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God (1 John 3:21).
Hebrews 10:35 says that confidence has a great reward. When you lose your confidence, you would have can’t grow because you cannot come boldly as Paul instructed us to receive mercy and strength.

Punishment; whether you like it or yes, we are on earth and therefore subject to the governing bodies. Punishment here, I won’t talk about been put in prison or been caned. But rather the punishment of unproductive argument.
Unbelievers will have the chase to waste your time by judging you and questioning your faith.

I will leave this for you to explore how it’s a weight.

How to overcome this weight.

There is only one remedy I would talk about in overcoming this weight; VALUE OR ESTEEM EVERY AUTHORITY AS ONE FROM GOD.

Philippians 3:23 ( _Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,_ ).

When we look beyond the person occupying the position and focus on the institutor of the position, it would be easier to submit to such authority.
When the person is going wayward, pray for him or her. If he/she is not changing, keep praying for him/her. If he’s not changed, pray again😊. And the Lord will guide you on what to do.

Conclusion
1 Peter 2:13-15 ( (13)1Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, (14) or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. (15) For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.).
let’s put foolish men to silence by our actions.

I will end with this caveat, Acts 4:19 ( But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! ).
the best to do in some instances is to bring the authorities to the knowledge of the truth in an unquestionable manner.

God bless you.
